In 2008, Command Creative was retained by a political newcomer and long-shot candidate for a hotly contested commission seat in Oregon’s most populous county, Multnomah County. Command oversaw all aspects of the campaign, from general strategy to issue and position statements, speech writing, collateral design, television production, and media buys. Command’s award-winning approach combined a keen understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the candidate as well the opposition with a studied knowledge of the broader political landscape. In the end, Command closed a twenty-five point gap from the primary to the general and the client claimed victory. A creative but highly strategic approach was the hallmark of the race.
